The Resolve Desktop PC Companion App is a great tool you can use to mark up issues you encounter during your VR review if you don't have a headset. After annotations have been made, you can download a PDF, CSV, XML, or BCF of all the annotations created during a meeting right from in the app. These exports are also available in the annotation section of our web portal.

Creating an Annotation

1. Open the annotations menu by clicking the text-bubble icon at the bottom of your Resolve menu.
2. Press the blue "+" button and a dialog box will appear.

3. Enter an annotation in the text field and press "Create."

4. Point to the place in the model where you would like to tag the annotation and left-click your mouse to place it.

Editing an Annotation

1. Open the annotations menu by clicking the text-bubble icon at the bottom.

2. Hover over the annotation you would like to edit and click "Edit." A dialog box will appear.

3. Edit the text and click "Save Changes" when finished.

Downloading the Annotations File

All annotations in a project can be viewed in a handy PDF. This PDF gets automatically emailed to all participants after a meeting (if they were logged in), but it can also be downloaded at any time by pressing the "Download" button in the annotations menu and selecting .PDF or .CSV.

From this menu, you can also choose to download the annotations in .CSV format, which can be imported into other issue-tracking software.

Editing Preset Annotations

Preset annotations can be used as a quick way to create annotations in VR using common phrases. You can customize the list of preset options while using the Resolve Desktop Companion app:

1. Open the annotations menu by clicking the text-bubble icon at the bottom.

2. Click the "Edit Presets" button in the bottom right. A dialog box will appear.
3. There, you can edit existing presets, delete them by pressing the "X" next to them, or add new ones.

4. Once you click "Save Changes," the new presets will sync across all members of the project and be available in the VR application.
