Updated yesterday

We want to share an important update regarding Meta Horizon Managed Services (HMS), Meta’s device management solution for Quest headsets used in enterprise environments.

We’ve been working closely with Meta to understand these changes and what they mean for customers using HMS today.

What’s changing

  • HMS will become free, effective February 20, 2026.
If you currently use HMS, nothing will stop working. The only change is that Meta will be removing the monthly HMS fee. There will be no cost to continue using HMS or to enroll new devices.

  • Meta will continue supporting HMS through 2030.

What’s staying the same

  • HMS will continue to function as it does today, and you can continue enrolling new devices through 2030.

  • Both Individual Mode and Shared Mode will remain available.

  • On February 20, 2026, HMS will move into maintenance mode through January 4, 2030, which means Meta will continue to provide support and bug fixes, but no new features will be introduced.

Additional updates

  • All Meta Quest headsets are now eligible for HMS enrollment.
You no longer need a special enterprise headset or a vendor-managed purchase. Consumer Quest headsets can now be enrolled in HMS at no cost.

  • Regional availability is expanding.
Geographic restrictions are being loosened, and we will share updates as additional regions become supported.

  • The 3-year enterprise hardware warranty is being discontinued.

  • Enterprise Quest SKUs are being retired.
Meta and its hardware partners will no longer offer higher-priced enterprise Quest models. All devices will be sold at standard consumer pricing.

  • Billing changes
If you were previously paying a monthly HMS fee, billing will stop after February 20, 2026.

  • Support with larger headset orders
Resolve can work with your organization to help place larger quantity orders of Meta Quest headsets through our partner network.

What this means for you

HMS is not going away. Instead, it is becoming a free platform with long-term support and stable functionality. While Meta is no longer expanding HMS with new features, customers benefit from lower costs and increased flexibility in how devices are purchased, shipped, and managed.

We will continue working closely with Meta and advising customers on the best approach for device management as the Quest ecosystem evolves.
