Creating annotations in Resolve is key to capturing comments, issues and questions from end users like operators or engineers.

After you have created annotations in Resolve you can view and manage them from our website at app.resolvebim.com.

On your Resolve dashboard simply click the speech bubble icon in the Annotations column of your model, pictured below:

This will take you to that model's Annotations page:

From here you can:

  1. Set Preset annotations or Tags that will be viewable in VR.

    1. Select "Presets" or "Tags" from the top of the annotation screen

    2. You can add preset annotation texts or tags that will be viewable in VR

      1. Updates made to tags will apply to all models

      2. Updates made to presets will apply only to the model in which they were updated

  2. Filter the list of annotations, including filtering by created date, status, tag, author and company

  3. Export your annotations as PDF, CSV, XML or BCF (NOTE: BCF can be imported into Newforma BIM Track or Procore or other tools)

    1. Select the "Export" button from the top right hand corner

    2. Select your format and your download will start automatically

      1. XML files can be imported to Navisworks as Viewpoints

      2. BCF files can be import to BIM Track and other issue tracking tools

  4. Editing the annotation status, text or tag

    1. Click on the status and toggle between Active, Resolved and Void. Please note that annotations marked Void will be permanently deleted.

  1. Click on the tag and select a different tag

  2. You can also edit the text of the annotation by clicking the "Edit" link, the green check will save your changes and the red "x" will discard them
