Creating annotations in Resolve is key to capturing comments, issues, and questions from end users. You can create annotations in VR or directly in the web viewer.
After annotations have been created, you can view and manage them from our website at app.resolvebim.com.
On your Resolve dashboard, click the speech bubble icon in the Annotations column of your model, pictured below:
This will take you to that model's Annotations page:
From here you can:
Set Preset annotations or Tags that will be viewable in VR.
Select "Presets" or "Tags" from the top of the annotation screen
You can add preset annotation texts or tags.
Filter the list of annotations, including filtering by created date, status, tag, author, and company
Export your annotations as PDF, CSV, XML, or BCF (NOTE: BCF can be imported into Newforma BIM Track or Procore or other tools)
Select the "Export" button from the top right-hand corner
Select your format and your download will start automatically
Editing the annotation status, text, or tag
Click on the status and toggle between Active, Resolved and Void. Please note that annotations marked Void will be permanently deleted.
Click on the tag and select a different tag
You can also edit the annotation text by clicking directly on it to open a text field. Update the text, then click outside the field to save automatically.
Open an annotation directly in the Web Viewer
Click on an annotation in the list to open its detailed view.
Click the Web button next to the annotation's status.
This opens the Lightning Web Viewer directly on that annotation so that you can see it in context on the model.
